Lake Tahoe City Guide

Lake Tahoe boasts more than 300 days of sunshine, 396 inches of annual snowfall, more than a dozen world-class ski and snowboarding resorts, golf courses, and casinos. Lake Tahoe itself is divided by the California and Nevada border. The lake is 22 miles long, 12 miles wide and its shoreline is 71 miles long. Its surface area is 193 square miles, and its maximum depth is more than 1,600 feet.
Summer activities in the Lake Tahoe region include golfing, boating, biking, hiking, fishing, water sports, tennis, horseback riding, aerial tours, lake cruises and more. Kayaking and sailing are popular activities, and the lake is always active with people on water skis and jet skis. Several beaches provide lots of water-related fun or just a chance to relax in the sand with a good book.
